CHANGING PLACES

The Changing Places campaign aims to get fully accessible toilets into all major public areas, including a hoist, changing bench and lots of space.
 
A Changing Places toilet is different to a standard accessible toilet. It is a room equipped with an adjustable changing bench and a hoist to allow people to use the toilet with assistance or have their continence pads changed.

Some low income patients including disabled people are missing out on getting help with transport costs to and from hospital. Help with these costs is available if you or your partner gets Income Support

If you would like more information then you will need a copy of HC11 ' Help with Health Costs' which should be available from your local job centre plus, NHS Hospital, Pharmacist, Doctor, Dentist or Optician. You will also need to get relevant claim forms

The Fire and Rescue Service and Safer Ryedale Partnership are offering FREE Risk Assessments to residents of Ryedale in order to make them aware of the potential dangers and security risks within the home.

Assessments on offer are:

  • Home Risk Assessments by the Fire Brigade
  • Smoke Alarm fitting
  • Child seat safety check
  • Advice on protecting the home
  • Advice on protecting the garage/shed
  • Advice on protecting cars/trade vehicle/cycles
